4. Rubber Plant.

This easy-care house plant is very popular because of its thick stems and fleshy, variegated leaves. Their large leaves can absorb airborne chemicals and break them down, rendering them harmless. Snake plant has broad strap-like, upright leaves that are dark green and marked with a pattern of wavy cross stripes in a lighter color. The striping gives it the common name of snake plant. The plant convert oxygen at night making it an ideal bedroom plant or in fact for anywhere in the house. The plant also filters formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene, toluene, and benzene from the air.
