The Night Circus is a 2011 fantasy novel by Erin Morgenstern. It was originally written for the annual writing competition NaNoWriMo over the span of three NaNoWriMos.The novel is written in third-person present tense, and arranged to have a nonlinear narrative written from multiple viewpoints.

The story takes place around 19th century juggling through London, France, New York, Munich and a few more famous places. Everything about the book attracts you as soon as you lay your eyes upon it. The beautiful black and white cover hints you about the magical experience it packs in for you. Well, the writing is brilliant and beautifully organized. Once you jump into this magical place, smooth flow of the story experience is guaranteed. Although most of the book reading experience pulls you in thoroughly, a little drag may experience in the later half of the book, just a tiny little bit.
"The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night."
Everyone who are familiar with circuses and magic shows are going to connect with the book instantly and experience a major nostalgia. The elegant black and white themed night circus is really a magical place one wishes to definitely visit after finishing this book. The night circus is the first book written by author Erin Morgenstern and obviously she did a fantastic job.
“How can I excel at a game when you refuse to tell me the rules?”
Well the major plot of the book revolves around the circus and two individuals who are opponents in a fierce battle taking place at the night circus. There is magic, illusion, spells, circus, love, humor and an interesting climax which leaves many people with a bitter taste. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed what night circus is offering me and eagerly waiting for the movie version to witness this epic on live action.
I strongly recommend any book lover to grab this one and experience the magic it is offering.
